Azerbaijan, bp explore strengthening energy transition partnership at COP29

Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov met with Gordon Birrell, bp's executive vice president for production and operations on the margins of the COP29 conference.

The meeting focused on Azerbaijan's interest in deepening international cooperation in energy transition efforts, as part of the global fight against climate change, Caliber.Az reports.

At the meeting, the importance of strengthening cooperation with bp in the field of energy transition was highlighted, with particular emphasis on joint initiatives in solar energy projects.

The discussions underlined bp's significant role in the implementation of international energy projects led by Azerbaijan, as well as the company's involvement in the development of Azerbaijan's energy resources and its active participation in various investment projects.

The sides exchanged views on the ongoing green energy projects in which Azerbaijan plays a prominent role, exploring opportunities for expanding joint efforts in energy transformation. Further discussions covered a range of topics related to the continued development of Azerbaijan's energy sector and future collaborative projects aimed at advancing sustainable energy solutions.
