Azerbaijan cheers historic Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border pact, citing regional benefits
Azerbaijan has affirmed its support for the historic agreement signed between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the delimitation and demarcation of their shared border.
In a statement released by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on social media platform X, the government emphasized the significance of the agreement for regional stability, Caliber.Az reports.

We wholeheartedly congratulate both brotherly countries on this significant achievement,” the post by the ministry reads.
The agreement, which aims to resolve long-standing border disputes between the two Central Asian nations, is seen as a major milestone in enhancing regional cooperation and fostering peace in the area.
The agreement on the state border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan signed in Bishkek on March 13 by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon. The signing ceremony was held in Bishkek during Rahmon's state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, a ceremony was held to resume the work of two checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border. The presidents of the two countries took part in the ceremony via video link.
The border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was closed after an armed border conflict in May 2021.
