Azerbaijani FM Bayramov visits Irpin during official trip to Ukraine PHOTO / UPDATED

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has toured the Ukrainian city of Irpin as part of his official trip to Ukraine, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has said.

Bayramov and the accompanying delegation laid flowers at the bust of academician Zarifa Aliyeva in the park bearing her name before visiting the Zarifa Aliyeva Lyceum and the city's polyclinic, both restored with Azerbaijan's financial and humanitarian support, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The delegation was also presented with a project to restore a cultural centre in Irpin, which is planned to be implemented with the support of the Azerbaijani government.

The Foreign Ministry noted that Irpin, which has a sister-city partnership with Lachin, has become one of the symbols of humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

The city is home to a park, a street and the Zarifa Aliyeva Lyceum named after the academician, where the Azerbaijani language is also taught.

Bayramov was accompanied by Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Oleksandr Mishchenko, as well as officials from the Irpin municipal administration.

The visit was also attended by Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Ukraine, Seymur Mardaliyev, members of the diplomatic mission and representatives of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, during an official visit to Ukraine, joined Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in laying a wreath and paying tribute to the country’s fallen soldiers at a memorial in the park of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has begun an official visit to Ukraine, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.

During the visit, Bayramov is expected to hold bilateral talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha, as well as with other senior officials.
