Trade between Azerbaijan and China increased in the first four months of 2026, reflecting continued expansion in economic ties between the two countries.

Bilateral trade turnover reached $1,513,789,800  in January–April 2026, representing a 6.1% increase compared with the same period in 2025, Caliber.Az reports, citing data from Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.

Exports from Azerbaijan to China saw a significant rise over the period, increasing by 59.9% year-on-year to $40.03 million. The share of Azerbaijani exports in overall trade with China also edged higher, rising to 0.34% from 0.28% a year earlier.

Imports from China, meanwhile, continued to dominate bilateral trade flows. They increased by 5.1% to $1.47 billion, accounting for the vast majority of total trade.

The share of imports in the overall structure of trade rose to 26.68%, compared with 17.24% in the same period of 2025.
