Azerbaijan Colombia discuss intensification of trade ties

Azerbaijan and Colombia discussed the intensification of trade ties.

According to the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Colombia to Azerbaijan Luis Fernando Cuartas Ayala, Trend reports.

At the meeting, Yusif Abdullayev informed about the activities of the agency, including measures to support entrepreneurs based on the “single window” function, export promotion mechanisms, as well as investment opportunities in Azerbaijan and trading partners.

In turn, the ambassador noted the political relations between the countries and spoke about the potential prospects for organizing the activities of Colombian companies, as well as representative offices of foreign companies operating in his country, in the economy of Azerbaijan.

It was noted that the export of coffee, flowers and pharmaceutical products from Colombia to Azerbaijan is currently one of the issues of interest. In this regard, an agreement was reached on the exchange of information between the parties and the provision of support from AZPROMO to coordinate the activities of entrepreneurs operating in the two countries.

According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, from January to October 2023, Azerbaijan exported goods worth over $301,830 to Colombia, and imported goods worth over $1.268 million.
