Azerbaijan continues clearing Karabakh of mines
The Mine Action Agency of the Azerbaijan Republic (ANAMA) has published a weekly report on the humanitarian demining operations in the territories liberated from occupation.
Some 32 anti-tank mines, 172 anti-personnel mines and 274 unexploded ordnance were revealed and defused in the liberated territories from May 20 to 26, ANAMA told Caliber.Az.
A total of 1,164.9 hectares of territory have been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance.
The demining operations are a collaborative effort involving ANAMA, the Defence Ministry, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the State Border Service. Together, they are working diligently to ensure the safety and security of the liberated areas, allowing civilians to return to the liberated lands.
ANAMA's ongoing efforts reflect Azerbaijan's commitment to post-conflict reconstruction and humanitarian relief in the districts affected by the conflict. By systematically clearing landmines and unexploded ordnance, Azerbaijan intends to create safe conditions for displaced communities to return home.
