Azerbaijan, Croatia explore enhanced cooperation in tax administration

A delegation from the State Tax Service (STS) under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy visited Zagreb.

The primary goal of the visit was to exchange experience with the Tax Administration under Croatia’s Ministry of Finance, Caliber.Az reports, citing the service.

During the visit, the sides held extensive discussions on topics including the organisation of digital transformation processes, the application of modern technologies in tax administration, the development of risk-oriented compliance strategies to manage tax risks using artificial intelligence and automation tools, and import-export procedures.

“The meetings also included an exchange of experience on organising internal audits, improving the efficiency and transparency of taxpayer services, enhancing user satisfaction, and improving the quality of electronic services,” the statement said.

Additionally, information was shared on judicial practice in resolving tax disputes, the analysis of cases where courts overturned tax control measures, and other related issues.

The parties also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in tax administration, implement new initiatives, and promote mutual exchange of expertise.
