Azerbaijan discusses construction of oil refinery in Pakistan PHOTO
Azerbaijan continues discussing possible cooperation on the construction of a new oil refinery in Pakistan, Deputy Energy Minister Kamal Abbasov said.
He made the remarks during his speech at the Pakistani Mineral Resources Investment Summit in Islamabad, Report informs with reference to the Energy Ministry.
The deputy minister briefed the participants of the summit about the development of Azerbaijan's oil and gas industry, production volumes, export dynamics and future plans, talking about the country's contribution to the global transition to green energy and energy security.
The speech emphasised the energy cooperation agreement between the governments of Azerbaijan and Pakistan and highlighted SOCAR's activities as a reliable LNG supplier to Pakistan since the signing of the document.
To recap, state-owned Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) and SOCAR Trading Company-UK, a subsidiary of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) signed an intergovernmental agreement on liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies on July 24.
This agreement gives Pakistan a unique opportunity to purchase low-cost LNG from anywhere in the world through Azerbaijan's extensive trading network.
