Azerbaijan discusses preparations for IsDB Group annual meetings

Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov has met with Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group President Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser to discuss preparations for the bank’s upcoming annual meetings, scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan on June 16–19.

They focused on the event programme, related roadshows, and organisational matters, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Discussions also highlighted Azerbaijan’s economic development and its role as a regional hub for trade and sustainable growth.

Al Jasser praised the country’s preparations and reaffirmed the Group’s readiness to deliver effective outcomes for member states.

Azerbaijan has been a member of the IsDB since 1992 and holds a 0.13% stake in the bank’s capital.

The 51st annual meeting of the IsDB Board of Governors is scheduled to take place in Baku from June 16 to 19, 2026.
