Azerbaijan, Djibouti foreign ministries hold first political consultations PHOTO
The first round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Djibouti has been held in Djibouti.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Report that the political consultations were organized within the visit of Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev to Djibouti.
The delegation of Djibouti at the consultations was headed by Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti Mohamed Ali Hassan.
Within the framework of the visit, Rafiyev also held meetings with Djibouti Foreign Minister Mahamoud Ali Youssouf and members of the Djibouti-Azerbaijani inter-parliamentary friendship group.
The sides discussed the development of cooperation in the political sphere, highly assessed the current level of relations between the two countries, and emphasized the importance of continuing mutual support at multilateral cooperation platforms such as the Non-Aligned Movement and the OIC.
The delegations considered the possibility of further diversifying bilateral ties, intensifying contacts and business relations, particularly in the economic, social and humanitarian spheres.
The sides noted the importance of mutual high-level visits and the need to further develop inter-parliamentary cooperation.
An agreement was reached to hold the next round of political consultations in 2024 in Baku.
