Azerbaijan donates millions of dollars for humanitarian aid to Ukraine Presidential order
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has ordered to allocate funds to the Energy Ministry of the country for the provision of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports, citing the official website of the president.
Under the document, in order to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine for the purchase and supply of electrical equipment, 7.6 million dollars (AZN 12,919,544) will be allocated to the Energy Ministry from the president's reserve fund, provided for in the state budget for 2023.
Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has recently announced the allocation of at least $10 million to help global efforts aimed at the restoration of war-torn Ukrainian territories.
Since the start of Russia’s “special operation” in February 2023, Kyiv received humanitarian aid worth $17 million from Azerbaijan. The latest aid tranche, including water pumps, inflatable boats and special clothing left for Ukraine on June 9, 2023, to help those suffering the consequences of the water dam disaster in Kakhovka.
