Azerbaijan, EBRD discuss economic diversification PHOTO

Azerbaijan has discussed the spheres for developing relations with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), diversifying the economy, and encouraging public-private partnerships and projects which are implemented through the bank’s support.

Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov held a meeting with EBRD Executive Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Matteo Patrone, Caliber.Az reports citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy.

The successful relations between Azerbaijan and the EBRD in various spheres were highlighted and information on the country’s socio-economic priorities was voiced at the meeting. Wide opportunities for cooperation in achieving the planned development goals were also noted.

In his context, further steps were discussed to implement priority projects in green economy, energy, especially renewable sources and alternative energy, development of the private sector, infrastructure and other spheres.

Patrone noted the effective cooperation between the EBRD with Azerbaijan and emphasised that the country’s economic potential contributes to the favorable atmosphere for expanding ties. The EBRD will continue supporting Azerbaijan’s economic development.
