Azerbaijan elected to UNECE committee leadership for 2026–2028
Azerbaijan has been elected to the leadership of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Committee on Innovation, Competitiveness and Public-Private Partnerships, securing representation in the Committee's Bureau for the 2026–2028 term.
The election took place during the Committee's 19th session, held in Geneva, according to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy.
As part of the new leadership, Turkan Vusaat, a representative of the Ministry of Economy, was elected Vice-Chair of the Committee's Bureau.
The ministry said Azerbaijan's election to the Committee's governing body reflects the country's participation in UNECE initiatives aimed at promoting innovation, strengthening competitiveness and advancing public-private partnerships.
The Committee on Innovation, Competitiveness and Public-Private Partnerships supports UNECE member states in developing policies to foster innovation-driven economic growth, improve competitiveness and facilitate sustainable infrastructure development through public-private partnerships.
