Azerbaijan, EU mull gas supply, green energy initiatives in Brazil
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov convened with European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson in Brazil to discuss key initiatives concerning natural gas supply projects, collaborative efforts in green energy, and enhanced cooperation in the context of COP29.
Shahbazov reminded that three out of the fourteen initiatives proposed by the Azerbaijani presidency of COP29 pertain to the energy sector, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Energy.
The discussions also included the construction of infrastructure for supplying green energy to Europe via Türkiye and Nakhchivan.
Notably, Minister Parviz Shahbazov embarked on his visit to Brazil at the invitation of Brazil's Minister of Mines and Energy Alexandre Silveira.
On October 3, the minister and his delegation will participate in the 15th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM-15) and the 9th Ministerial Meeting of Mission Innovation (Ml9) in Foz do Iguaçu.
On October 4, Minister Shahbazov will also attend the G20 Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting (ETMM) and the 4th High-Level Dialogue on Energy Transition, co-chaired by Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
