Azerbaijan expanding cooperation with Italy in civil aviation PHOTO

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) President Jahangir Asgarov has met with a delegation of the Italian Leonardo concern, headed by Senior Vice President for International Marketing and Strategic Campaigns within Leonardo Chief Commercial Office Marco Buratti.

The prospects for cooperation in civil aviation and a range of topical issues in the aviation sector were considered during the meeting, AZAL told Caliber.Az.

Thus, the sides discussed the possibility of supplying a radar station at international airports built in the liberated territories of the country, a new automated baggage management system at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, as well as expanding the fleet of Agusta helicopters and their maintenance.

Asgarov and Buratti stressed the wide potential for fruitful cooperation through joint projects and initiatives.
The sides exchanged views on aspects of partnership development in various spheres of Azerbaijan's civil aviation and expressed readiness for a long-term partnership.

The Italian Leonardo concern has been closely cooperating with AZAL since 2006.

During the entire period of cooperation, many projects, including the supply of aircraft, helicopters, and others, were implemented.

Among the recent projects are the supply of a navigation system and an aircraft landing system at international airports built in the liberated Azerbaijani territories.

Leonardo Group offers a wide range of innovative products for aviation and aerospace, and develops numerous products in the field of defence, security, etc.
