Azerbaijan exports nearly $40 million worth of gas to Greece in January
In January 2026, Azerbaijan exported 80.1 million cubic metres of natural gas to Greece worth $33.7 million, Trend reports, citing the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
Compared to January 2025, export revenues fell by $10 million (22.9%), while volumes declined slightly by 111,000 cubic metres (0.1%).
Overall, in January 2026, Azerbaijan exported 2.292 billion cubic metres of gas to foreign markets worth $687.5 million. This represents a decrease of $182.6 million (21%) in value and 46.9 million cubic metres (2%) in volume compared to January 2025.
At the same time, in January 2026, Azerbaijan imported gas only from the Islamic Republic of Iran—43.5 million cubic metres worth $2.9 million. For comparison, in January 2025, gas was imported from Turkmenistan in the amount of 42.6 million cubic metres worth $6.4 million. Thus, year-on-year gas imports declined by $3.5 million (more than halved), while volumes increased by 894,000 cubic metres (2.1%).
