Azerbaijan exports over five million tons of oil in first quarter
Azerbaijan exported 5,077,834 tonnes of crude oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous rocks in January–March of this year, according to the State Customs Committee.
The value of crude oil exports amounted to $2,500,709,500, marking a 25.1% decline compared with the same period in 2025, while export volumes fell by 15.5%, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Over the past three months, crude oil and bituminous petroleum products accounted for 46.29% of Azerbaijan’s total exports.
Overall, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations worth $9.407 billion in January–March, down 21.9% year-on-year. Exports totalled $5.402 billion, while imports stood at $4.005 billion.
Over the past year, exports declined by 15.4% and imports by 29.3%.
As a result, the country recorded a positive trade balance of $1.398 billion, marking a 93.4% year-on-year increase.
