Azerbaijan eyes wider maritime cooperation with Damen Shipyards Group

Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with Chief Executive Officer of Damen Shipyards Group Arnout Damen on July 14, with the sides highlighting the successful development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the company.

During the meeting, the parties emphasised Damen Shipyards Group’s participation in projects being implemented in Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports per the Cabinet of Ministers.

It was noted that Azerbaijan’s position as an international transport and logistics hub, along with the further expansion of its transit potential, creates new opportunities for developing cooperation in shipbuilding and maritime transport.

The sides also discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Damen Shipyards Group in the shipbuilding sector, the application of advanced maritime technologies, and other areas of mutual interest.
