Azerbaijan gains Asian Development Bank support for health sector overhaul PHOTO
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has affirmed readiness to support healthcare reforms being implemented by the Azerbaijani government.
Christine Engstrom, Director General of ADB’s Sectors Department 3, made the remarks during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Health Minister Teymur Musayev, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
She highly praised the reforms currently being carried out in the country’s healthcare sector.
Musayev said cooperation with the Asian Development Bank makes an important contribution to the effective implementation of healthcare reforms and the application of international experience. He stressed the importance of future joint initiatives, particularly in innovative projects aimed at developing regional healthcare infrastructure and strengthening medical personnel capacity.
The minister noted that the Azerbaijani government has identified the sustainable development of the healthcare system, modernization of medical infrastructure, and ensuring public access to quality medical services as key priorities.
Musayev also said that significant steps have already been taken in recent years to modernize medical institutions and introduce digital solutions across the country.
