Azerbaijan, Georgia boost cooperation on public financial control
A delegation from Azerbaijan’s State Financial Control Service has concluded a four-day working visit to Georgia aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in public financial oversight and audit practices.
The delegation, representing the State Financial Control Service under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Finance, visited Georgia’s Ministry of Finance from February 23 to 26, Caliber.Az reports per Finance Ministry.
During the visit, officials from both sides exchanged experience in public financial control, audit activities and the organisation of internal control systems.
Discussions focused on risk-base audit approaches, improving oversight mechanisms, strengthening institutional capacity and introducing digital solutions in the public sector. The Azerbaijani delegation also met with representatives of relevant structural units within the Georgian Finance Ministry and attended presentations on the country’s financial control and audit processes.
Both sides explored opportunities to expand cooperation, including the organisation of joint training sessions and internship programs. Officials said the meetings would help deepen bilateral ties and promote the adoption of best practices in public financial management.
