Azerbaijan, Georgia discuss boosting rail freight volumes PHOTO
Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, met with Lasha Abashidze, CEO of Georgian Railway JSC, to elaborate on increasing freight volumes, optimising tariffs, and improving delivery times.

The meeting highlighted satisfaction with the current level of cooperation in the railway sector between the two countries, the Azerbaijan Railways press service told Caliber.Az.
The officials also exchanged views on the development of the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars (BTK) railway line.
The parties emphasised that new agreements between BTKI Railways and Georgian Railway JSC on the use of the Marabda–Akhalkalaki railway infrastructure and the provision of terminal services at Akhalkalaki station will create conditions for more efficient freight transportation along the BTK corridor.
