Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan seek to boost Middle Corridor ties PHOTO
On February 10, Ashgabat hosted a quadrilateral meeting with Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), Mammet Akmammedov, Turkmenistan’s Minister of Railway Transport, Zufar Narzullayev, Chairman of Uzbekistan Railways, and Lasha Abashidze, Director General of Georgian Railways, focused on expanding cooperation along the Middle Corridor.
Officials discussed mutual interests in the railway sector, ways to enhance the corridor’s competitiveness, increase freight volumes, and digitalise operations for faster, more efficient cargo movement, Caliber.Az reports, citing ADY.

The meeting highlighted the significance of the “Memorandum of Understanding on Transport and Logistics Cooperation between the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan, and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan,” signed in August 2025 in Turkmenbashi, as a framework for deeper collaboration.
The session concluded with a protocol covering multiple areas, including digitalisation, freight development, and corridor diagnostics.
