Azerbaijan, Germany discuss workforce training for industrial sector
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Economy Minister Samad Bashirli held talks with Stefan Küpper, Chairman of the Board of Baden-Württemberg International Education (BiWE).
During the meeting with Küpper, who is also Executive Director for Policy, Education and Labour Market at the Südwestmetall employers’ association, the talks focused on the positive momentum in economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ministry of Economy.
Officials also highlighted the importance of the Roadmap signed with the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and the Eastern Business Association of Germany.
Participants were briefed on Azerbaijan’s economic priorities, as well as ongoing projects and programs aimed at developing human resources, and discussed prospects for further cooperation.
They also outlined the activities of the Vocational Education Centre under the Economic Zones Development Agency and highlighted opportunities for joint efforts to train qualified personnel for the industrial sector.
The sides also exchanged views on the development of vocational education to meet demand for skilled labour in Azerbaijan, workforce capacity across various sectors of the economy, and other issues of mutual interest.
