Azerbaijan, Germany explore expansion of green energy, industrial cooperation
Azerbaijan and Germany have discussed strengthening cooperation in industry, green energy, and investment, including plans to establish a joint business council to deepen economic ties between the two countries.
The talks took place during a meeting between AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev and a delegation led by Michael Harms, Chairman of the German Economy’s Eastern Committee, Caliber.Az reports per AZPROMO.
Discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in sectors such as renewable energy, industrial development, and technology transfer. The two sides also reviewed Azerbaijan’s investment climate, regional connectivity, and its growing transport and logistics capabilities.
Both parties reportedly welcomed the prospects for closer collaboration between Azerbaijani and German companies, with particular emphasis on the green energy transition and industrial modernisation. They also discussed the potential establishment of an Azerbaijan–Germany Business Council, which would serve as a platform for regular dialogue between business communities, information exchange, and joint project development.
In addition, the German delegation was invited to upcoming investment-focused events in Azerbaijan, including the Private Sector Forum in Baku scheduled for June 16–19, held alongside the 51st Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group, as well as the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum planned for September 25–26.
