Azerbaijan hosts Pakistani travel firms in tourism promotion visit PHOTO
Azerbaijan has hosted a familiarisation trip for representatives of 10 leading travel companies from Pakistan, as part of efforts to promote the country’s tourism sector and strengthen bilateral travel links.
According to the State Agency for Tourism of Azerbaijan, the visit was organised by the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau to showcase the country’s tourism potential and key travel products to international partners, Caliber.Az reports.
During the programme, participants travelled to Baku and the regions of Shabran, Guba, and Gusar, where they were introduced to Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and leisure tourism opportunities.
As part of the visit, a business-to-business (B2B) meeting was held on June 12 between Pakistani travel companies and around 50 Azerbaijani tourism industry representatives, enabling discussions on potential cooperation and future travel packages.
Officials noted that tourism flows from Pakistan to Azerbaijan have continued to grow. According to the State Agency for Tourism, arrivals from Pakistan in 2025 increased by 13% compared to the previous year, reaching 91,043 visitors.
Air connectivity between the two countries has also expanded. Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) currently operates direct flights from Baku to Lahore and Islamabad, while Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Airblue serve the Lahore–Baku route.
