Azerbaijan, IMF explore new avenues for international partnership PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Economy Minister Samad Bashirli held a meeting with Anna Bordon, head of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) mission to Azerbaijan, to discuss economic cooperation and partnership opportunities with international institutions.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on economic forecasts for the current and medium-term periods, structural reforms, and measures aimed at diversifying Azerbaijan’s economy, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy.
They also discussed the activities of the Ministry of Economy in these areas, as well as ongoing reforms in tax policy and tax administration.
“Information was provided on expanding state support mechanisms and introducing new instruments to develop entrepreneurship in our country, investment policy in the non-oil and gas sector, as well as opportunities for partnership with international financial institutions,” the ministry’s statement read.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the sides to address a range of issues of mutual interest.
