Azerbaijan, India discuss expansion of trade, economic relations PHOTO/UPDATED

Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has held a meeting with India’s State Minister of Trade and Industry, Co-Chairman of the Azerbaijan-India Intergovernmental Commission Anupriya Patel.

The current state of economic relations and opportunities for expanding cooperation were discussed at the meeting, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Economy.

Besides, the parties noted the importance of the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and India.

In addition, Jabbarov and Patel discussed opportunities for mutual investments and noted the potential for cooperation in industrial, energy, agricultural, pharmaceutical, transport and transit and other spheres.

They also discussed issues of expanding partnership between business circles and the development of trade and economic relations.

Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov and his Indian counterpart Anupriya Patel have discussed the expansion of cooperation in the transport and tourism spheres.

“During the meeting with Anupriya Patel, the Indian Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, we discussed the current state of economic relations between our countries. We also explored opportunities for enhancing cooperation in trade, transport, tourism, as well as promoting mutual investments,” Caliber.Az quotes Jabbarov as saying on his X page.

More than 47,670 Indian citizens tripped to Azerbaijan in the first half of 2023, which is more than 3 times more than the same period last year, and 1.7 times more than the same period of 2019. Currently, simplified e-visa procedures are available for Indian nationals with the Delhi-Baku-Delhi direct flights operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL).
