Azerbaijan, India preparing to eliminate double taxation
Negotiations were held between Azerbaijan and India on open clauses of the draft Agreement on the elimination of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion.
The remark came from Report with reference to the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.
According to the information, Deputy Head of the Main Department of International Taxation and Tax Monitoring of the State Service Ceyhun Ismailov, Head of the International Taxation Department Elkin Mammadov and other authorized persons took part in the negotiations from the Azerbaijani side. From the Indian side, negotiations were conducted by authorized persons of the Ministry of Finance and a representative of the embassy in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the remaining open issues related to the "Preamble", "Dividends", "Restriction of rights" and the Protocol parts of the Agreement, as well as the difficulties arising in the application of such agreements in practice, were discussed. It was noted that if the agreement is signed, favourable conditions will be created for investors in both countries, and the document will be important for the exchange of information and the formation of an effective attitude towards the collection of tax debts.
The discussions were held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding. As a result of three days of discussions, an agreement was reached on all open points of the draft Agreement relating to taxation.
