Azerbaijan invites Pakistani companies to cooperate in "green energy"
Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has invited Pakistani companies to cooperate in the field of "green energy" and energy efficiency in Azerbaijan.
As per the Ministry of Energy, the minister voiced the invitation at a meeting in Baku with a delegation led by the Federal Minister for Privatization, Investment and Communications Board of Pakistan Abdul Aleem Khan, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The meeting saw the parties noting the successful development of Azerbaijani-Pakistani relations.
Shahbazov and Aleem Khan expressed satisfaction with cooperation in various fields, and noted the need to use the energy potential to take bilateral relations to a new level.
Furthermore, the delegations of the two countries discussed the expansion of cooperation between the energy companies of Azerbaijan and Pakistan, ongoing projects, considered the opportunities related to Azerbaijan's industrial initiatives in the field of renewable energy, offshore wind energy and the creation of "green energy" export routes, the ministry emphasizes.
The sides also shared thoughts on the activities of the ECO-UNIDO Clean Energy Center in Baku, and expressed mutual support in strengthening the energy partnership.
It is crucial to note that Azerbaijan is actively pursuing the development of green energy to diversify its energy sources and enhance sustainability. The country has significant untapped renewable energy potential, including solar, wind, hydro, biomass, and geothermal resources.
