Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan launch “green corridor” to boost agro-exports
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have reached an agreement to facilitate the supply of fruits and vegetables through a newly established “green corridor,” paving the way for smoother agricultural trade between the two countries.
The development was confirmed by Aizhan Bizhanova, First Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Bizhanova highlighted that Kazakhstan seeks to significantly increase imports of agricultural products from Azerbaijan.
“We face considerable demand for fruits and vegetables during the off-season. To address this, we are opening a ‘green corridor’ between our customs authorities, allowing for the seamless supply of produce from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan. This initiative is designed not only to satisfy domestic market needs but also to process part of the imported products for export to the European Union, China, and Russia,” Bizhanova stated.
