Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan sign protocol of 21st Intergovernmental Commission session in Baku
The protocol of the 21st session of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation has been signed.
The commission's co-chairman on the Azerbaijani side is Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, and on the Kazakh side is Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
As a reminder, the 21st session of the Azerbaijan–Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on Economic Cooperation is currently taking place in Baku.
The co-chair of the commission from the Azerbaijani side is Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, while the co-chair from Kazakhstan is Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev.
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan reached $547.578 million in January–August 2025, which is 3.18 times higher than during the same period last year.
The main exports from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan were wheat — $121.536 million, and oil and petroleum products — $38.212 million.
Currently, around 1,500 companies with Azerbaijani capital operate in Kazakhstan, while approximately 150 companies with Kazakh capital are registered in Azerbaijan.
Investments attracted from Azerbaijan between 2005 and 2024 amounted to $420.8 million, whereas investments in Azerbaijan totalled $156.1 million, according to the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
