Azerbaijan, Moldova discuss expanding economic cooperation
Azerbaijan and Moldova have discussed the current state of bilateral relations and expanding economic cooperation, Moldova's Foreign Ministry has stated.
It said the discussions in Chisinau between Azerbaijani Ambassador to Moldova Ulvi Bakhshaliyev and Moldovan Deputy Foreign Minister and State Secretary Corina Călugăru focused mainly on the energy, agricultural and transport sectors, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The sides also considered holding bilateral consultations between the two foreign ministries and organising the next meeting of the Azerbaijan-Moldova Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation to boost economic dialogue and implement joint projects.
The discussions also noted expanding high-level exchanges, strengthening trade and economic ties, developing the legal framework governing bilateral relations and coordinating upcoming joint activities.
Particular attention was paid to cooperation within international organisations, including the United Nations, the Council of Europe and GUAM – the Organisation for Democracy and Economic Development, with both sides underscoring the importance of coordinating positions on issues of mutual interest.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their intention to deepen and diversify cooperation between Azerbaijan and Moldova.
