Azerbaijan-Moldova economic partnership accelerates with impressive growth
In the first two months of 2025, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Moldova reached $1.3 million, reflecting a 26.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
This update was shared by Rovnag Abdullayev, Azerbaijan's Deputy Minister of Economy, Caliber.Az reports.
"In terms of trade and economic cooperation, I would like to highlight that last year, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Moldova amounted to $10.1 million. Despite some fluctuations in 2024, we managed to reverse the trend. During January and February of this year, we saw a 26.6% growth in trade, reaching $1.3 million. I am confident that we will continue to sustain this positive growth trend," Abdullayev said on April 11 during the Azerbaijan-Moldova Business Forum.
The Deputy Minister also noted that there are currently 20 active companies with Moldovan capital operating in Azerbaijan. These companies are involved in various sectors, including transportation, industry, construction, trade, and services.
Abdullayev further mentioned that the number of Moldovan tourists visiting Azerbaijan grew by nearly 12% last year. The national airline, AZAL, currently operates regular flights on the Baku-Chisinau-Baku route five times a week.
"Starting in May, these flights will become daily, which will significantly enhance the development of both business and tourism ties between our countries," he added.
