Azerbaijan, Montenegro exchange views on visa policy during consular consultations
On June 3, consular consultations were held in Baku between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Montenegro.
According to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, quoted by Caliber.Az, the Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department, while the Montenegrin side was led by Ivana Djukanović, Director General for Consular Affairs and Cooperation with the Diaspora at Montenegro’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two sides discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral consular relations.
Topics included the expansion of the legal framework for cooperation, joint efforts to protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of both Azerbaijan and Montenegro, and the exchange of best practices in the digitalisation of consular services.
They also exchanged views on visa policy.
In addition, the discussions covered proposals for developing cooperation in areas such as legal assistance, labour migration, social protection, and tourism. The two parties reached an agreement on taking the necessary steps to strengthen ties in these respective areas.
