Azerbaijan, Netherlands discuss Caspian Sea level challenges
Dutch Ambassador Marianne de Jong and Azerbaijan's Special Representative on Climate Issues Mukhtar Babayev met to boost bilateral cooperation, focusing on water management and Caspian Sea level challenges.
During the meeting, current and future key areas of cooperation between the Netherlands and Azerbaijan were discussed, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Dutch Embassy in Azerbaijan.
“The outcomes of COP29 and opportunities to expand collaboration based on these results were also reviewed. In addition, discussions covered cooperation with Dutch companies in water management, challenges related to Caspian Sea levels, restoration and cleaning of Absheron lakes, and waste management,” the embassy said.
The parties also highlighted their joint commitment to sustainable urban development and climate resilience, exchanging views on partnership opportunities with Dutch public and private sector representatives within the framework of the World Urban Forum.
