Azerbaijan, Netherlands seek closer cooperation in bilateral and regional affairs PHOTO
Azerbaijan and the Netherlands discussed key issues on their bilateral agenda and held inter-ministerial political consultations in Baku.
The discussions took place during a meeting between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Dutch Deputy Foreign Minister Marcel de Vink, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
"The sides discussed bilateral and multilateral agenda issues, as well as the regional situation, highlighting the broad prospects for the development of Azerbaijan-Netherlands cooperation," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated following the talks.
The ministry also emphasized the importance of mechanisms such as political consultations and mutual visits in overcoming barriers to the development of relations.
Minister Bayramov briefed the Dutch delegation on Azerbaijan’s successful chairmanship of the COP29 climate conference.
"The Dutch delegation was given a detailed overview of the regional situation in the post-conflict period, the process of normalizing Azerbaijan-Armenia relations, work on border delimitation, and the challenges and difficulties in advancing the peace agenda," the statement read.
On the same day, political consultations took place between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and the Netherlands. The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev, while Marcel de Vink headed the Dutch delegation.
