Azerbaijan offers full support to Georgia after Turkish Air Force plane crash
Following the crash of a Turkish Air Force military transport plane on Georgian territory, Azerbaijan has pledged comprehensive support to assist in addressing the incident.
On instructions from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Ali Asadov contacted his Georgian counterpart, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, to coordinate efforts in the wake of the tragedy, local media reports.
During the call, Asadov confirmed that Azerbaijan is ready to provide all necessary assistance for search and rescue operations, including sending personnel from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations to the crash site. Additional measures of support are also being prepared, ensuring a swift and coordinated response.
The Georgian side expressed appreciation for Azerbaijan’s support, noting that representatives from the relevant Georgian agencies are already working at the scene.
Both leaders emphasised the ongoing collaboration between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport with their Georgian counterparts.
They agreed to maintain close communication to manage the aftermath of the incident and ensure the safety and efficiency of operations.
