Azerbaijan offers vast energy opportunities, industry leader declares

Azerbaijan continues to offer significant opportunities for investment across both conventional and unconventional oil and gas sectors, supported by its strategic geographic position, stable business environment, and extensive energy infrastructure, said Asif Zeynalov, CEO of the group and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Azerbaijani GL Group.

Speaking at the 31st Baku Energy Forum, Zeynalov highlighted the country's substantial resource base and ongoing potential for development, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

"Azerbaijan possesses world-class assets in both the conventional and unconventional oil and gas sectors, including oil and gas fields as well as mature facilities with potential for further exploration," he said.

According to Zeynalov, despite Azerbaijan's long-established role as a major energy producer, considerable opportunities remain for investors and operators seeking to expand their presence in the sector.

"There are still many opportunities here," he noted.

The executive also emphasized Azerbaijan's strategic position along the Middle Corridor, describing it as a key advantage for companies looking to benefit from regional connectivity and international trade routes.

"Azerbaijan's strategic location in the center of the Middle Corridor allows the country to effectively leverage logistics advantages and international supply chains," Zeynalov said.

He added that Azerbaijan's reputation as a stable state further strengthens its attractiveness to international investors.

"In addition, Azerbaijan has established itself as a stable state, which is an important factor for investors and operators considering the region for business development," he stated.

Zeynalov also pointed to the country's well-developed energy infrastructure, including its extensive network of pipelines, as a major asset for companies entering the market.

"It should also be noted that there is a well-developed infrastructure and an extensive pipeline system. This is a significant advantage that all market participants can benefit from, especially companies entering the Azerbaijani market for the first time," he said.
