Azerbaijan outlines digital strategy at Kuwait technology forum PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Samir Mammadov, has outlined the country’s digital policy and technological initiatives during a visit to Kuwait.
Mammadov discussed potential cooperation with representatives of BMC Helix, a company specialising in IT service and operations management, and venture capital firm 500 Global, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
The meetings took place on the sidelines of the 5th General Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO) in Kuwait.
Speaking at roundtable discussions on artificial intelligence, Mammadov highlighted Azerbaijan’s ongoing projects and reforms in the sector. He provided details of the country’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy for 2025–2028, its broader Digital Development Strategy, and initiatives such as the Artificial Intelligence Academy.
He also presented Azerbaijan’s digital platforms and services, including myGov, SIMA and Digital Bridge.
During the event, Mammadov met the Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organisation, Deemah AlYahya. He emphasised Azerbaijan’s digital transformation policies and measures being implemented to accelerate technological development.
Mammadov also held bilateral talks with senior officials from Morocco, Pakistan, Kenya, Nigeria and Oman. The discussions focused on priority areas and prospects for future cooperation in digital development.
