Azerbaijan-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry opens doors in Islamabad
The Azerbaijan-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been officially inaugurated in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
Federal Minister for Privatisation, Investment Board and Communications of Pakistan Abdul Aleem Khan, along with diplomats, representatives of the state agencies, businessmen and public members attended the event, the Azerbaijani embassy said, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
During the ceremony, Azerbaijani Ambassador Khazar Farhadov highlighted the high level of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He also spoke about tax incentives, investment opportunities, and the exemption from import duties on Pakistani rice until December 31, 2027.
Other speakers included Federal Minister for Privatisation, Investment Board and Communications of Pakistan Abdul Aleem Khan, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Atif Ikram Sheikh and Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari. They emphasized the growing economic cooperation and favourable investment climate in Azerbaijan. The ceremony concluded with a group photo.
Earlier, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov and Federal Minister for Privatisation, Investment Board and Communications of Pakistan, Abdul Aleem Khan explored avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation.
The sides praised the dynamic growth of friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries across multiple sectors.
The meeting also underscored that the bilateral ties have reached a new level following the official visit by Azerbaijan’s President to Pakistan last year.
During discussions, the officials focused on the potential for further strengthening strategic partnerships between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, particularly in the fields of economy, trade, investment, and other areas of mutual interest.
Both parties highlighted the importance of fostering deeper cooperation to achieve sustainable growth and shared development goals.
