Officials from Azerbaijan and Pakistan discussed on June 15 the issues of signing a preferential trade agreement between the two countries.
The discussions, which were announced by Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, took place on the sidelines of the Pakistani delegation's visit to Azerbaijan led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
"Together with our colleague, Minister of Energy [of Azerbaijan] Parviz Shahbazov, we held a meeting with Pakistan's Commerce Minister Syed Naveed Qamar and Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik. Our discussions focused on the development prospects of Azerbaijan-Pakistan economic relations," Jabbarov wrote on Twitter, according to Caliber.Az.
He added that the talks also focused on the ongoing efforts to sign a Preferential Trade Agreement, which will bolster trade ties between the two nations, the opportunities for mutual investments, as well as the potential cooperation in the energy sector.
