Today in Cairo, under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the 9th Egypt International Energy Conference and Exhibition (EGYPS 2026) officially opened.
The conference and exhibition, running from March 30 to April 1, are considered a key platform for the energy sector in North Africa and the Mediterranean region, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
EGYPS 2026 brings together ministers from various countries, heads of international organisations, executives of major energy companies, and leaders of global corporations focused on innovative energy technologies. Azerbaijan is represented by a delegation led by SOCAR Vice President Vitaliy Beylarbekov.
The event is held under the theme “Energy Transition through Cooperation, Action, and Reality.” Discussions will cover topics such as energy security, sustainable development, renewable energy, and the application of advanced technologies.
Over 500 companies, including 51 local and international energy firms, are participating in the exhibition. More than 350 speakers from government bodies, international organisations, and major energy companies are scheduled to present.
Additionally, national pavilions from 13 countries provide broad opportunities for multilateral cooperation and investment partnerships.
