Azerbaijan plans business forum with African entrepreneurs
Azerbaijan is planning to organise a joint business forum with African entrepreneurs following talks between the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) and the African Business Council.
During a meeting, AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev and African Business Council President Amani Abou-Zeid Asfour discussed expanding economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and African countries, the agency told Caliber.Az correspondent.
Abdullayev outlined AZPROMO’s activities and provided an overview of current economic ties, while Asfour highlighted the Council’s role and stressed the importance of strengthening links between business communities on both sides.
“The meeting discussed potential opportunities for cooperation in agriculture, the extractive industry, construction, and other areas, prospects for promoting mutual investment and organising business missions. There was also an exchange of views on organising an African-Azerbaijani business forum with the support of the African Business Council. In addition, AZPROMO was invited to participate in the 49th meeting of the Executive Council of the African Union, which will be held in Egypt in June this year, and in the African Mining Conference, which will take place in South Africa in October,” the statement said.
The discussions reflect a broader effort to deepen trade, investment, and institutional engagement between Azerbaijan and African partners.
