Azerbaijan poised for economic expansion through connectivity, clean energy, IMF says
The development of the Middle Corridor and “green” energy corridors is opening significant opportunities to boost Azerbaijan’s economic growth potential, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has stated.
Responding to a request from local media, the IMF emphasized that expanding connectivity and creating new transport routes are critical for advancing Azerbaijan’s export diversification strategy and strengthening private sector involvement in the national economy.
According to the IMF, improving infrastructure links and establishing alternative transport corridors will not only facilitate trade but also enhance Azerbaijan’s integration into regional and global markets. These measures are seen as essential components in the country’s broader economic development agenda.
The Fund highlighted that strategic investment in transport and energy networks, coupled with policies supporting private enterprise, could play a pivotal role in sustaining long-term economic growth and resilience.
