The ninth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland, along with the Azerbaijan–Poland Business Forum, took place in the Polish capital, Warsaw.

The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Co-Chairman of the Commission and Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov, while Poland was represented by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Technology Michal Baranowski, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The two officials attended the opening ceremony of the business forum, which brought together over 130 entrepreneurs from both countries.

Speaking at the event, Heydarov highlighted that the successful political relations between Azerbaijan and Poland have created favourable conditions for expanding economic cooperation. He stressed that establishing joint industrial enterprises and developing collaboration in transportation, rail infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, food production, construction, and energy will further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations.

Heydarov added that Azerbaijan’s favourable business environment and investment climate offer broad opportunities for Polish companies and expressed confidence that the forum would significantly contribute to deepening economic ties.

Baranowski, in turn, emphasised the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and expressed confidence that the forum would have a beneficial impact on their further development.

The business forum was jointly organised by Azerbaijan Export and İnvestment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), the Azerbaijani Trade Representation for Central Europe, and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH).

Following the forum, the ninth session of the Intergovernmental Commission convened. In his remarks, Heydarov thanked the Polish side for its hospitality and noted that Azerbaijan–Poland relations, built on historical ties and mutual respect, have evolved into a strategic partnership. He expressed confidence that the current meeting would further enhance economic and trade cooperation through new projects and practical initiatives.

Heydarov also underlined the positive results achieved since the previous meeting in Baku, including progress in industry, agriculture, energy, and logistics. Baranowski commended the current state of bilateral relations and noted the strong potential for further cooperation across various sectors.

The session concluded with the signing of the Protocol of the 9th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Poland and a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Veterinary Affairs between the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency and Poland’s Chief Veterinary Inspectorate.
