Azerbaijan is leveraging regional peace, expanding connectivity, and its rich cultural diversity to attract more international tourists, positioning itself and the wider South Caucasus as an emerging multi-country travel destination, according to Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourist Board.
Speaking to Euronews, Sengstschmid highlighted that improved regional cooperation, including joint Silk Road Heritage initiatives with Uzbekistan, is helping to draw long-haul visitors to the country.
He also pointed to Azerbaijan’s growing transport connectivity, with new routes and carriers ready to meet rising demand. As perceptions shift and confidence builds, Azerbaijan aims to showcase its diverse landscapes and vibrant energy far beyond Baku, strengthening its reputation as a welcoming and dynamic destination, Sengstschmid said.
