Azerbaijan, PowerChina discuss 160 MW solar plant cooperation Photo
PowerChina Resources has expressed strong interest in expanding its cooperation with Azerbaijan in the renewable energy sector, signaling potential new investments in the country’s growing clean energy market.
The issue was discussed during a meeting between Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and He Shiyou, Executive Vice-President of PowerChina Resources, according to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy, Caliber.Az reports.
Talks focused on the planned construction of a 160-megawatt solar power plant in Azerbaijan, as well as prospects for wind energy projects. The sides also exchanged views on broader trends shaping China’s energy sector, including the development of smart grids, the formation of a new energy system, and the acceleration of digital transformation.
Discussions further covered efforts to increase the share of renewable energy in supplying power to data centres and artificial intelligence systems, as well as challenges facing global energy and industrial supply chains.
