Azerbaijan promotes year-round tourism at Belgrade showcase
The Azerbaijan Tourism Board has organized an event in Belgrade, Serbia, to promote the country as an attractive year-round tourist destination, the State Tourism Agency said.
The event was attended by the head of the board, Florian Sengstschmid; the chairman of the agency, Fuad Naghiyev; the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Serbia, Kamil Khasiyev; the State Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Youth of Serbia, Nikola Mijailović; representatives of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation; and representatives of the tourism industry and media from both countries, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Speaking at the event, Fuad Naghiyev said that visa facilitation measures and improved connectivity are helping strengthen tourism ties between the two countries.
“The visa-free regime, joint initiatives, and the launch of a direct Baku-Belgrade flight are making an important contribution to the development of tourism ties and the growth of tourist flow,” he noted.
The event also featured B2B meetings involving eight representatives of the local tourism industry and around 30 Serbian travel companies, aimed at strengthening commercial partnerships in the tourism sector.
Air Serbia has been operating direct flights between Baku and Belgrade twice a week since May 3, with an average occupancy rate of 87 percent, according to officials.
