Azerbaijan quadruples sugar exports in early 2026

Azerbaijan significantly boosted its sugar production and exports in the first two months of 2026, according to official statistics.

The country produced 44,200 tonnes of sugar in January–February, marking a 33.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025. By March 1, 2026, stocks of finished sugar in warehouses totalled 18,900 tonnes, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.

According to the State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan exported 20,352.47 tonnes of sugar in the same period—a 4.4-fold increase—generating $13.53 million in revenue, a 4.3-fold rise from early 2025. The share of sugar exports in total exports reached 0.37%, up from 0.07% in January–February 2025.
