Azerbaijan records growth in gas export revenues, TRACECA operations
Azerbaijan's revenues from gas transportation via main pipelines have exceeded 1.7 billion manats ($1 billion) since early 2022, which means a 26 per cent increase year-on-year.
The indicated figure for the same period of 2021 was 1.35 billion manats ($794 million), Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Statistical Committee.
As reported, 28.5 billion cubic metres of gas was transported along main pipelines from January to September of this year, which is 12.1 per cent more compared to the same period last year.
As much as 53.3 per cent of gas was transported through the South Caucasus pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum. In the reported period, 15.2 billion cubic metres of gas were transported through this pipeline (compared to the same period in 2021, the increase was 19.6 per cent).
In addition, in the first nine months of this year, Azerbaijan’s revenues from cargo and passenger transportation on the Azerbaijani segment of Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) rose by 33.6 per cent on annual basis and amounted to 571.2 million manats ($336 million).
The corresponding figure for the same period of last year was 427.5 million manats ($251.4 million).
In the mentioned period, 539.6 million manats ($317.4 million) were received from cargo transportation via Azerbaijan's Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia, and 31.6 million manats ($18.5 million) from passenger transportation, which was 33.2 per cent and 41 per cent more respectively in annual comparison.
